Annotated "Alexander Hamilton"
The fourth assignment for Typography 270 focused on formatting the annotation of a 4+ page piece of writing. Created in InDesign, it required careful consideration of margins and the side-by-side juxtaposition of annotations and body text. My project involved additional difficulties, as I chose to format a song, “Alexander Hamilton,” the first song from the musical Hamilton. I annotated it with historical facts and details that improve comprehension of the song’s context without overpowering the song itself; the layout, with its delicate side notes and numbering system, promotes this. Finally, I printed out the pages in booklet form and bound them inside a cover, using needle and thread and careful folding.
